Mabel's Free Clinic Association is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization located in Weslaco, Texas supporting the clinic located in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico for the purpose of suppling free medical screening and dental care for the indigent children of Nuevo Progreso and surrounding colonias in Tamaulipas, Mexico. The clinic is also tax exempt in Mexico.
This association is NOT affiliated with any other organization. We are a non-sectarian, non-political, non-profit making association.
Mabel's Free Clinic Association provides:
· Dental screening
· Optometric screening and eyeglasses
· Medical screening
· Basic household needs (clothing, shoes, blankets, etc.)
· School supplies
The association currently services 14 schools in the area.
Initially the Clinic was established for dental care. Medical and optical examinations are also provided at this time. Various medical teams from many parts of the U.S. and Canada also come down periodically to help out.
The clinic also supplies clothing and school supplies and provides scholarships to qualified students.
