Mabel's Free Clinic
Mabel's Free Clinic Association is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization located in Weslaco, Texas. It's purpose is to provide free medical screening and dental care for the indigent of Nuevo Progreso and surrounding colonias (Spanish for neighbourhoods) in Tamaulipas, Mexico.
The clinic currently services 14 schools in the area as well as several children's orphanages. Various medical teams from many parts of the U.S. and Canada come down periodically to lend a hand in this worthwhile endeavor. Today, the primary goal is to see that children receive good health, an education, and with that education, to change their lives for the better. The clinic also supplies clothing and school supplies and provides scholarships to qualified students.
